Baneshwar Fair 2011, Hanumangarh

Baneshwar Fair is one of the very famous religious and traditional fair of Rajasthan  which is held in Beneshwar, hanumangarh India. Plenty of small traders from Rajasthan and other neighbouring states attracts towards it for the purpose of business.

Very large number of people visited in this fair and offering prayers to Lord Shiva in the famous Shiva Temple in Baneshwar.On these four days temple remains open from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm.

In the Shiv Linga is decroted by devotees and afterwards people perform rituals in this temple.Devotees also offers wheat flour, rice, pulses, jaggery, ghee, coconut and cash.

During this baneshwar fair tribal sings traditional folk songs in high voices. Groups of villagers are also invited to participate in the programme. they sits around a fire place every night and then cultural programme runs. The Baneshwar Fair is colorful and traditional fair and cultural programmes, magic shows, animal shows are also part of this Baneshwar fair.From last some years it also comes to know that some international tourist are also taking interest in this fair.

This Year this event is start from 14th of Feb 2011 to 18th of Feb 2011.

Arattupuzha Pooram Elephant Pageants , Thrissur

ArattupuzhaTemple Pooram festival is considered to be the oldest pooram festival of Kerla.This temple is located near Thrissur District of Kerla state.This pooram festival is dedicated to Sree Ayyappa.

In this sixty elephants are decorated with the bright colours muthukkuda and white tufts make for an exotic pageant.

In year 2010 this festival is celebrated on 28th March 2010.
